A polygon is a geometric shape with three or more sides, defined by straight-sided lines that connect a point on the outside (a vertex) to another point on the inside (another vertex).
For example, in the visual below, the bed has 400k polys, meaning it would take a lot longer to render than the lamp which has only 30k polys.
This gives you an idea on the amount of polys in one simple scene! A bedroom CGI can have up to 5million polys! That’s a lot of polys and rendering power! ⏳😅
