Belgrave is a major residential regeneration project in Sheffield, transforming a key gateway site into a contemporary canal-side community.
North Made Studio were approached by Alliance Investments to produce the full suite of architectural CGI, including detailed exterior CGI, interior CGI and interior design visualisations for a representative apartment. We also delivered a cinematic architectural animation that begins above the development, moves through the street-level arrival and reception spaces, and concludes inside a finished apartment. These visual assets were crafted to support marketing, planning communication and off-plan sales.
THE DEVELOPMENT
Belgrave Waterside represents one of Sheffield’s most ambitious new residential neighbourhoods. Set beside the historic canal, the development is designed to deliver contemporary city living across a series of high-quality buildings integrated with public realm improvements and landscaped pedestrian routes. The architecture combines clean modern forms with textured materials that reference Sheffield’s industrial character, creating an identity that feels both local and forward-looking.
The masterplan includes a mix of studio, one-bed and two-bed apartments, with generous glazing, thoughtful layouts and amenity spaces that support a modern urban lifestyle. Residents benefit from landscaped courtyards, water-edge walkways, active frontage, cycle storage and clear connections to Sheffield’s wider city centre. Positioned within walking distance of Kelham Island, the Cathedral Quarter and key retail and employment districts, Belgrave Waterside appeals to young professionals, downsizers, and investors seeking high-quality homes in a fast-growing part of the city.
The development’s scale and canal-side setting make it a highly visible gateway project for Sheffield, and the architectural vision places a strong emphasis on community, wellbeing, sustainability and placemaking.
OUR VISUALISATION APPROACH
Our architectural visualisation approach for Belgrave Waterside focused on presenting the development’s scale, design language and canal-side setting through architectural CGI, 3D architectural rendering, interior visualisation and animation. Working closely with the project team, we delivered a suite of exterior CGI that communicated building form, façade articulation, materiality and the relationship between the development and the surrounding waterside environment. These images were crafted with realistic lighting, contextual landscaping and canal reflections to enhance visual impact and marketability.
For the interior CGI, we created a complete visual narrative for a representative apartment, including interior design styling. Our visualisation emphasised natural light, contemporary palettes, spatial flow and material realism, allowing prospective residents to understand how the interiors would feel in everyday use.
To complement the still imagery, we produced a cinematic architectural animation designed to guide viewers through a curated journey: beginning with an elevated overview of the development, descending to street level, travelling through the landscaped public realm and communal entrances, and finally entering a fully dressed apartment interior. This combination of CGI and motion design created an engaging digital asset for marketing presentations, social media deployment and investment communication.
By integrating architectural CGI, interior CGI, animation and storytelling, we provided Alliance with a comprehensive visual toolkit that supports planning, strengthens marketing output, and enhances buyer confidence.
